Michael Black – Owner/President
Michael Crawford, AKA Michael Black, is the owner of Dead Sea Records, a California-based indie label and home to many up-and-coming bands, including the International all-star thrash metal band Taipan. Michael Black is the frontman and co-manager for Taipan, recently signed to Fono Records in Russia.
Michael Black has had a long history in the Southern California Music scene. As the former front man for internationally touring metal band Black Oil, author of “Paper Cuts” and “Life In A Metal Band” and label owner.
Michael Black is also known for his 8-year tenure with the Brazilian thrash band Black Oil. www.blackoil1.com They have played and toured with such large acts as Soulfly, Fear Factory, Arch Enemy, Anthrax, Slayer, Motorhead, Megadeth, Slipknot and hundreds more. Currently, Michael Black is recording a side project, known as Stone Faced www.facebook.com/stonefacedproject, which combines giants of the music industry like Aaron Rossi (Ministy), Logan Mader (Soulfly, Machinehead), Tony Campos (Fear factory, Soulfly) and local artists from Dead Sea Records to create ground-breaking industrial ambient metal.
